Do you worry everyday? --I admit I do worry at least once daily about life, school, and much more.
I recently watched this video by Chad Entinger a wonderful preacher from Deaf Mission in Council Bluffs, Iowa. (Happen to know him too!) His message of the day is very powerful by talking about over coming worrying. Knowing millions of people around the world are worrying about economic, loosing a job, disaster happening, terrorists, and anything about your own personal life. Chad gave an excellent statistic on what percent people worry the most about...
40% – things that will never happen
30% – things about the past that can't be changed by worrying
12% – things involving criticism by others, which for the most part are not true
10% – about health, which gets worse with stress
8% – about real problems that will be faced
How ridiculous is it that so often we worry about things that never happen! So why do we worry?
Ever wondering where worry comes from?.... Satan! Its one of their greatest weapons, if you let the Satan get into your worry "business", you would be trapped and worry about a certain thing for a long period of time. Which is worthless and wasting of your time. Chad had explained, "Jesus made it very clear in verse Matthew 6:27 that worrying will not add a single hour to our life. Worry is not good for our health. Often, our mind races more than it needs to. We lose sleep. We overeat or do not eat enough. One man told me that when he worries, he eats too much chocolate! Many people experience health problems as a result of worrying. Most often, it causes unnecessary stress."
Jesus and Chad is telling the truth, I am diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder (GAD), I end up not being very healthy. Whenever I am being over stress by worrying too much, my conclusion are having Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and other few more health issues. That's my consequences for not rely on God for my worry. I've been neglect this verse:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" 1 Peter 4:7
In addition, if you wonder how to overcome worry, Chad had gave helpful advices.
First is to spend time with God.
Second is to look at the animals and flowers (Let them remind you that God always has and always will provide.)
Third is to control your worry! (Don’t worry about the things you cannot control.)
One of my favorite verses that helps remind me to give my worry to him... "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths";Proverbs 3:5-6 This verse has always forced me to look up and trust in the Lord he will take care of everything even through I want to take control of any circumstances but knowing its impossible without him!
Be worry free and your smile will shine with peaceful moments in your life!
