Ten on Tuesdays (V.128)

1. What is your favorite Pixar movie? Have you seen all of them?
Ahh oh yes have seen all of them and which ones are my favorties? I actually love them all, however, myy top ones would be Ratatouille, Cars, and Monster Inc just because how cute Boo is!!

2. Do you enjoy soccer?
YESSSS!! I grow up playing soccer and still wish could be still playing! I even been thinking about join a pick up game or a league around here. It kinda sucks because they tend to charge for club soccer here in Rochester, there aren't any pick ups games around here! Sucks. Hope my next city where i will be living will have something! Or otherwise I'll move to Europe! :-)

3. Are you musical?
Nope not at all because I am DEAF! However, I do love to play the drums that way I can feel the loud beats on my chest! Love it but it probably not make any sense while play it haha!

4. How many push-ups can you do?
I just recently did some i can do 10+, been working out!

5. Did you have braces when you were younger?
Nope but wish I did. I still do have time to have them put on my teeth to straight some of my crooked top teeth. Even everyone said my teeth looks great, which to me it doesn't!

6. Summer or winter? Coffee or tea? Wedges or flats?
It not actually matter to me because I ski in the winter time and love the snow, same time not mind the cold. As for summer love the warm weather and the sun! Also wakeboard is the PRO during the summer time!
Don't like coffee or tea!
Flats I would say!

7. Do you buy new or used cars?
Used. They are cheaper and worth my money since I rather spend money on other fun stuff than new cars! However, my next care I would love to get Subaru Impreza Outback Sport!

8. Are you afraid of needles?
Not really. Am used to it after being on iv, giving blood tests, and contrast to many times! I also won't mind get a tattoo.

9. Do you get cranky when you’re tired or hungry?
I don't get cranky as much, believe it or not! I tend to get pissy cranky if get annoyed or stressed out but again i say it's rare for me to get crankly, even on my woman days! I tend to get headache instead, am sure my future husband will be very lucky! haha

10. Write your newest favorite recipe.
Actually, it would be my own chicken drums with Wegmans (local food store) Sesame Garlic and Teriyaki sauce on the chicken then bake it! YUMMY!!!!

Thanks to Rings and Roots for fun questions!

Workout Wednesday (v.3)

At Planet Fitness
It's week 4 for my 5k training program, it's getting a little challenging! Am getting much better not puffing or huffing while running, finally found the right speed on the treadmill while I run. Have been increasing little by little on each day I go to Planet Fitness to run.

Beside running I do some weight lifting to tone up my upper body for softball and golfing. I've forgot how much I've miss lift weighting in High School. I was required to lift weight every week while being on the golf and soccer team. My upper body was strong and toned and not been lifting since I graduated from High School. Look froward to get it toned up again!

At First Game
On Monday nights I play Softball for my church Open Door Baptist Church Ladies League. Recently Monday was our first game, we did lost but we did play well for our first game and with whole new team member on our team #4. Last year I was on #3 and year before that #1. I still have 3 players that has been tag along with me each year. Arlene and Alisa are interpreters and Rach is deaf friend of mine, so prefect we know our throws and how we play. I play third base the most and coach will put me Right field when he feel like it, since I am fast at backing up 1st base. Have been enjoying playing with my sister in Christ, cannot wait for the next game!

Injury update: You notice in my softball picture I have knee Patellar Stabilizing strap, since my right knee has been bothering me while running or resting. However, that strap is actually helping reduce the spasm feeling pain. Lets hope its a long running support for my knee!! Even thinking about getting another one for my left to prevent from getting hurt! :-)

Happy running!!<><

Workout Wednesday (V.2)

Whoops been lack on this post! Yes, I am still working out during my free time. Am on week 3 for my 5k training and doing pretty well!

I've signed up for two different 5k races. One here in Rochester at Rochester School for the Deaf for their Annual Riverside race. Will be going with friends from here. Other one is back in Nebraska in Omaha/Council Bluffs for Color me Rad 5k, this one I am mostly looking froward to! My sister, cousin Jenny and I are going as team! I am excited to be able to run with my family member, best feeling and of course do this FUN 5k race!

My right knee started to hurt on my week 2 training program. Even though I've had pain in my knee for awhile since last year, it would go away and come back. I contacted my chiropractor to see what the best suggest I can do, maybe a small patellar tendonitis strap. Will keep you updated with that!

Oh one more thing, I just bought myself exercise ball and loving it! Next thing I want to get myself a foam roller to help with my myofascial Release and massaging tight muscles. Both are high recommend if you want to stay in fit.

My weight is still under 125 lbs whoot hoot!! :-)

Job with Airline Industry

Tumblr_lyvztgjgu91qan9wao1_500_large
I have been thinking of ideas to work with the Airline Industry for a long time. It just come and go in my mind, but right now it came back since I have one more year of school left. Still not sure what I want to do for SURE, however, still want to spare some social work into my career. Plus am a frequency flyer and have the traveling bug in me so would like to continue to have the experience!

As for my idea of this career with the Airline Industry, I want to be able to spread the awareness of Deaf and hard of hearing community in to the Airlines business. By be able to attend one of the TSA, pilots, attendant, travel agents, and other airline workers workshops. While am there would like to explain them easier way to handle Deaf or Hard of Hearing passengers without any barriers. The more we Deaf community share and help them how to improve to give Deaf community a better flying experiences.

I personal have a wonderful friend who is a flight attendant that works with United airlines. Whenever we get together we would have a long conversations about her experience with Deaf passengers or any barriers she had, her ideas, or suggestions. It's very helpful to know her side of view, which will help me come up with a idea how to teach others in the airline industry.

Since I am a frequency flyer, which fly about 3-6 times a year since 2006. I have been through so many experiences of my own being a Deaf passenger. It's actually interesting and sometime very frustrated while flying. To be honest with you, I haven't had a really bad experience flying compared to other passengers, I've been through all things you can think of flying, especially for emergency landing that I know of.

One other idea along with this I want to do a research on Deaf and Hard of Hearing passengers on their experience flying with any airlines. I want to collect how often they fly, have any barrier, issues, are they satisfied with the industry, and etc.

I will make a post about my experiences flying and what I have been through and how I handled it. :-)

Pray that God will allow this kind of opportunity opened for me in the future! <><

Workout Wednesday (v.1)

Via

Welcome to my new Wednesday posts called "Workout Wednesday!". I've finally started working out recently Saturday (April 7th) at Planet Fitness with my wonderful friend Laura. She will be my workout partner, we both want to encourage each other to stay healthy and fit.

I am sure most of you think I look just fine, which I do but I need to exercise due to doctor order. It will help my digestive system function much better and less kidney stone attacks. Of course, want to stay healthy and fit. Same time I have been dwelling on wanting to playing some soccer but am totally out of shape! Guess that is really pushing me to the gym!

My personal goal is to...
-tone up my upper strength (for golf, softball, and hold babies)
-abs (to reduce the fat)
-lower body strength (for soccer, skiing and etc)
-keep my cardio (cardiovascular) stable- to be able to hike, run, etc without stopping and catching my breath.
-Keep weight stable (125-130lbs- correct weight for my height and body shape)

Starting Weight (4/11/12): 125 lbs

March Movies

The Big Year
This movie made me fell asleep, I thought it would be funny since have 3 well known comedian actors in the movie. However, it disappointed me and was boring. They just basely chasing after birds and from a true story. If you really love birds then this movie is good for you to watch it.

I'll give it a one star - Sorry!

the adventures of tintin movie poster

The Adventure of Tintin
This movie is AWESOME AWESOME, love the graphic and motions of this movie! The ship battle remind me of Pirates of Caribbeans in cartoon verison- NEAT! I highly recommend you to watch this movie!

I give this movie more than 5 Stars!!!! No wonder it won lot of awards.

Hugo

This movie made me not move at all, it really draw my eyes on the screen all the way. It's mystery, poignant, soulful, and thriller. Only part that bores me is the art and the film, I am not into art or anything like that, they filmed about the "Voyage to the Moon". However, it's good movie overall! I really enjoy European movie with children, this was filmed in Paris.

Will give it a 4.5 star (due to the art part)

http://www.impawards.com/2011/posters/young_adult_ver2.jpg

Young Adult

The stupid and waste of time movie! Don't rent it, not worth your money and time! The ending totally sucks, just her stare at her wrecked car at a diner, Uhumm?! It's all about her chasing after her high school sweetheart and getting drunk! What a Sucker!
Rate is .5 stars

Am sure some of you are wondering how I have been doing since my laid off. So far I am doing wonderful and keeping up with my faith.

What I have been doing:

- Contacting people I know that could have a job opportunities for me (Networking is awesome!!)

- Contacting University of Nebraska at Omaha Social Work program to see where I am standing if I transfer there this coming up fall. (Will find out this week or so)

- Working on songs for children for coming up Missionary Trip to Dominican Republic

- Catching up on projects that I have been putting aside for too long! (will post for sure)

- Waiting very patiently to hear from Unemployment Benefit to see what I am eligible for till i find a job

- Meeting up with friends that I have not seen for awhile.

- Lastly is study God's words daily to keep up with my faith.

Have been praying on everything I have done lately, because I want to walk with the Lord and do it in his will not mine. <><

Testimony of Being Laid Off

431513_222605121163463_100002419305273_462170_1656013646_n_large

It has been over a week since was informed that I had been laid off. Even had to go into work for the last week till Friday the 16th which was my offical last day at the company. There were lot of ups and downs during the week and of course awkward but we all worked together as a team to get through this.

The Lord absolutely worked with me during that time. I decided to take a step back and put all my trust in him. I prayed and prayed to help me to figure out what to do next and want to do it in his way not mine.

Verse that applies to this: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; ~Proverbs 3:5

I noticed he had gave me guide in many ways. For example, I was looking for job in Rochester, Salt Lake City, and Omaha. While was on indeed.com for Rochester, I didn't feel peace and something was not right, so decided to change location to Omaha. While was looking for job there, I felt more peace and so many more ideas came up. I.e Contacting people I know there that can help me discover a job, places that I know I can look into here. However, I was concerned about schooling while was praying about that Lord had reminded me that University of Omaha has social work program that I could finish up my degree at. From those thoughts, I knew the Lord was helping me to move onto new Chapter with my life!

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." ~Psalms 32:8

On the other hand, was worried about financial, would I be able to find job on time to afford my rent, gas, and food if unemployment benefit is not enough. The Lord had again reminded me that I have family back home which I can stay for free till I find a job and move on my own. Those things really made me realize the Lord is starting to open things up for me and helping me through.

My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ~Philippian 4:19

Honest with you I've never had a interesting testimony what Lord had been doing for me. I was praying and thinking to myself wondering what the possibility why God decide to let this happen. For one reason that tops my head is that I LOVED the job more than HIM. Which was a mistake (sin) and it disappointed God because I just went with my own life and really happy, even grateful for a great job that I really ENJOYED! In the bible it said ....

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." ~Matthew 6:33

... that verse is when it hit me hard that I didn't seek his kingdom first, I seek my own kingdom first. That shows me the bible is telling the truth because it is happening to me right now!

Right now, I am taking day by day and importantly trust the Lord. Even, he knew who I am before I was born and knows what is the best for me down the road.

"Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land." ~Psalm 37:34

Going through this in the past week and today made me to be more honorable to be Jesus Follower (Born-again/Christian).

<>< GOD'S GOOD AMEN!

You've Been Laid Off....

Right now am totally in a shock this is really happening to me and world is up down side. I absolutely do not know what to do without Lord's help.

Friday night (3/9/12) after my shift my boss called me on video phone at work to info me the company is hurting financial and had to make a HUGE cut. I didn't think it would impact me, maybe just my hours being cut. Then she told me most of us would be laid off and I was one of them. I thought it was a dream at first, it took awhile for me to collect myself and realize it's for real. My boss was not looking good at all herself, was very sad and started to cry, then I started to have tears. I knew my loyal, heart, and hard work into this company had come to end.

Even I totally thought this job would help me last till after my last year of school for Bachelors degree, however, that didn't happen.  This is a huge hit for me, now I completely understand how unemployment people are feeling right now. I think age doesn't matter when you got laid off, and am only 24 but am at the point where was hoping to have a job to help finish up my last year of my Bachelors degree. In addition, possible help me out while taking my masters degree and seek for a secure and stable job.

I admit i made a huge mistake- I didn't look up to the Lord, even my Boss is a Jesus Follower just alike myself, told me while on the phone with me, "God has better plan for you and he know the best for you." After we end the phone call, how did I reaction after the call- Did I pray right away? NO. Did I asked for help from him? NO. Was I mad at him? Yes. Did I read the bible that night? NO. Those questions had made me realize I should of looked up to him the first thing and have FAITH in him, then maybe I would handle it better, which I didn't. Instead of FREAK out and text my parents and friends, I am a human I can't be prefect, even do not have strong relationship with God right now. Which had influenced me on how I would reaction.

However, God had taught me huge lesson through this, I cannot describe the words how God did this to me. He knew that would happen to me. It's tough for me to understand why, since I LOVE LOVE LOVE this job! I believe God was saving me from being hurt by the company later on- not sure!

(Wrote this on Sunday (3/11), posted it today)

More coming.....

One Year @ Snap!Vrs

Whoot! That's right I have been here at Snap!Vrs for a year since March 3/4th. This job is pretty much my most recently and longest steady job i have had. I have been having odd jobs since senior in high school, those doesn't count.

The first person I Thank about this Job is the Lord, he provided me this job through his willing. I am speechless because it's not easy to find a job that you really appreciated and not sick of it. Plus I have a Faithful manger whos has the same belief as me. Even have some member on the team who are Jesus Followers, as well. It totally makes my job more comfortable and less stressful.
However, I have noticed that I have not compliant in the morning about have to go into work like this... "Ughh i gotta go to work -blahh!" Am always joyful going to work because I know God had provide me this job by his will!

Gotta tell you the team is wonderful, they are always on my back and make sure everything is going well. We work together as team. It's not easy to find a job that is like this. We would joke, tease, share life experiences, and much more. We have been through rough times but we all are positive and upbeat about working at the company.

The Lord is good, he provided me a wonderful team to work with that helped me to stay here longer.

Half of the Team

Made It In The Newspapers!

Yuppers, I made it in the Norfolk Daily News again, I was also in several times during high school. This time my mom nominated me for the article which was hosting this topic “The Life of a 24 year old" from the area where I lived and grew up. They asked me questions which are shown below. I was surprised but humbled that they used three of my pictures on there from some of my travels. Find out what's in the article!

Seriously I have to admit this...God is amazing! I am speechless that I am able to say what I want in this article. I am grateful for this country where we have the 'Freedom of Speech' where I can comment about my belief. I am very excited about this opportunity!!!!

For you those who do not recieve Norfolk Daily Newpaper, here is ur opportunity to read! (click on the image it will enlarge for you!)

Hope you learned something new about me! <><

Ten on Tuesday (116)

from weheartit
FYI: I’m not good at math.

What was your best/worst day in math class?
Best: Whenever I get an A on my test or homework because math was my least favorite class. As for worst day probably do the problem wrong on the board front of the class. (haha)

Who was your favorite/least favorite math teacher? Why?
Mr. Muller, my Junior and Senior math teacher at Norfolk Senior High. He was so much fun that motivated us to learn Trigonometry and Algebra. He always pick on me and very easy to talk and understand when I ask questions. Even have time to help me out of class time. Mr. Muller used to work with me for Speed Camp for Soccer, which it was lot of fun. I wish my kids would have him for their Math teacher.

Is it okay to be bad at math if English is more your thing?
I believe so, unless your career requires knowledge of math. For instance, people who work with counting such as money, tax, and much more. However, to me English is important because we use it everyday, while some of us do not use math everyday.

How does this video make you feel?
First of all, I cannot hear and the captions sucks!!!

What do you like/not like about math?
I like math in some way because it challenges my brain and helps me develop better strategic and logical for my daily basis. One thing I don't like math when i DO NOT understand or get it! :-)

What makes someone a nerd?
I have no idea what makes someone a nerd. Sterotype that I would use is someone who are into science, reading, and not into sports, oh and very smart. Actually, the term 'nerd' does not mean anything to me just a word that describes someone who is not in sport at all to me. Fyi not intend to offense anyone!

Who is the nerdiest person you know?
I do personal cannot think of one. In the movies or shows actors that I would say are Pee Wee Herman, Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), Michael Cera, DJ Qualls.

What is the nerdiest thing you’ve ever done?
Umm I'm not sure since i grew up playing sports, not into read or studying, school was my least favorite thing to do. All i wanted to do was play sports such as soccer, golfing, softball, skiing, and wakeboarding.

Do you think GraphJam is funny?
Never heard of this but gonna check it out.

Have you ever used math outside of school?
Only the easy ones!

Got this fun blog posts from Roots and Rings.

My Tuesday went well, had morning shift at work, came home to do laundry, cooked me a good chicken dinner and brownies. Oh... of course took nice long nap after work! Now off to watch 'Switch at Birth' tv show! Hope you had a good Tuesday!

Sad, she decided to grow up to be a lovely 20 year old lady today! I am very proud at her throughout her life, even today she is in her 2nd year of college. Emily always trying her hardest to be successful and accomplish her goals.

I LOVE YOU!!!

Here is what she looks alike today!- Pretty isn't she!!

1. How do you feel about Valentine’s Day?
It's just a Holiday to me, since it's my young sister Birthday too! I care more of that than Valentine's day.
If was in relationship it might be different but at the same time we always can share valentine's day together since we are in Love!!! It's like valentine's day to us everyday and that goes for marriage too!
2. Are you in love?
Unsure... heetee
3. What is your favorite love song?
I am Deaf, I do not have any favorite song.
4. Did your parents do anything for you on Valentine’s Day when you were a child?
They would tell me they love me and get us valentine candy/pop. Since we already get plenty of junkies from school valentine's party. However, I love out of state now, they would send me card and bunchies of goodies.
Same time, it was my sister's birthday so it overlapped. Which I didn't mind since mine was on thanksgiving day. So we are in the same boat! :)
5. What is your love language? (Click here if you want to take the quiz.)Took the quiz the highest score was Quality of Time. Of course I share my love language through quality time or while we are alone. For instance, like to spend time with my love doing things we enjoy, chat to get know them better, and show them more of my affection. I also do show him how much I love him by little gifts which means lot to him. Sometime I like to send love notes in Dutch and have him, figure the love message out.
6. How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? Gifts? Dinner?
It doesn't matter, important we are together! :)
7. What is your favorite flower?
Lily, Calia Lily, Gerberas, Stargazer Lily,
and Tiger Lily
8. What is your favorite love story? (Book and/or movie.)
Oh I have so many!! The top one is 'The Proposal'.
9. What is the most romantic thing someone has ever done for you? Or you have done for someone?
No one had done anything that I see as romantic to me "yet"- which mean that strikes my heart!! As for me, I give him something that he really likes and tell him how much I really liked him.
10. How did you meet your spouse/significant other?
I am single, just ended my relationship that lasted 2 months
recently. Which I do not mind, since want to refocus on  my relationship with the Lord, what I want for sure for my career and life. However, God knows the right one for down the road. I just have to be patient and he will come anytime!
Happy Valentine’s Day
