Hello How May I help You??...

It has been three months since I've been working as customer service representative (CSR), it has been very interesting experiences for me. This job is different from other CSR that talks on the regular phone or automatically menu system for options. As for my company, it's deaf friendly we use video phone, which means we speaks with our customers face to face.

Let me ask you a couples of questions. Have you ever called an customer service for certain question about product that you are having trouble with? While you are on the phone with an CSR, what are you doing?... picking on your nose, smoking, in bed, guys being topless or ladies being braless, having tissue up your nose, children bothering you, texting, talking to someone else, or fixing up your hair and do make ups? Or felt stressed, felt so angry and yelled, even being impatient? Believe it or not, have been through all of that face to face! I would think it be easier for hearing person talking on the phone less emotional or visual while helping customers than being face to face because I can see what they are doing while talking to me.

However, as I say this is very interesting job because it help me grow my skills how to help vary of people all over the nation even other countries. Also it helps me learn how to cope with angry, impatient, or annoying customers for my future work as public health counselor.

Am still loving every minute of this job and have wonderful supportive co-workers! <><

Long Grass Ever!

Oh my goodness, I think this is the longest grass I've ever lived on! It has been brutal and dreadful to come and leave home like this!! Neighborhoods has been giving my landlord grass cutting offers for past 3 weeks and totally feel them that they are annoyed by it. I kept on telling people who came over just to ignore it and am not responsibility for it, however I would CUT it asap. Even it look like some kind druggie or lazy bum house ugh!! But now ITS MUCH better back normal what it is supposed to be! What a beautiful house it is now, sure our neighborhoods are much happier and have big smile on their faces!

Geez it has been raining since Saturday evening til today (Wednesday). This felt like this is the record in my life that it has been raining that long. Even worse my car won't even start on Sunday while it was pouring and windy (Brr), had to tow it and didn't get it back till Tuesday, even found out nothing wrong because it start up just fine for them.. Sigh! What a exciting start of week! Also Lilac Festive supposed to be this week but it has been cancelled daily due to rain, what a huge bummer for Rochester Community. However, have been thinking to get this outfit that my little cuzin Syd got for her birthday couples of weekends ago. (shown below) Would love to get the same outfit so we can be twins... heetee
(Umbrella not shown)
I pray that it would sun shine soon and Friday so i can go to lilac festive with my friends on my day off from work!

Junior at SUNY Completed!

(Sad to say this, but this is how it was whole year!)
First weeks of May was hectic for me toward finals to get all my papers and projects done and call it end for my Junior year at SUNY! I would say it was interesting year for me. I noticed Fall semester I was emotional stressed while was physical stress this spring semester. It was two big different experience for me. However, I was glad I got through my junior year because everyone say that year is the most tough year of Social Worker program- No kidding it was!! Got to Thank God for wonderful interpreters who was there all who had to cope with me and was behind my back all the way, love their supports! If not for them, am not sure if i would of made it through haha!

I am excited because I will be graduating next May 2012, as far what my program told me! I hope i will be because I am ready to be done with them and move on with my life! Looking into change my career a little bit for masters program, looking froward to that too!!

May 1st, I helped RIT to made a world record by set the largest dodgeball game ever played! We had about 2,200 players there. It was awesome experience and got free t'shirt out of it! :-)

April Update

I didn't do much exciting, just focused on school and working. However, Easter was nice, spent time with the Talbotts and Robinson (had others ppl there too) had a nice dinner and chat! Nice to have a family to spend Easter with, while i just cannot make a quick flight home. That be nice tho!

Other than that, on April 30th worked at a Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims children/Parents workshop. It was called "Spank Out" which had panel teaching parents how to disciplining their children without abusing their children. As for children we played with them in the gym and read them a story book called "Hands are not for Hitting". It was lot of fun and of course will do this again next year!

May came by too quick!

Lobbyist Day

March 30th, I went on a field trip to Albany, NY for a Lobbyist Day for Domestic Violence advocate organization. That day was very informative for me and life experience into policy and politics related to domestic Violence and in general how the process works. We visited 6 local senators, unfortunately we were only able to meet with 3 of them and rest were with their assist or staff. We went into each office with group which was with my night classmates (picture shown below) and just discuss 6 main Bills related to DV that we wanted the Senators to sign and pass. It was pretty neat because we were able to bring our own voice and convince them to pass. Beside visiting the senators it was neat for me because I've been to Nebraska state Capitol, government offices, and met my senator and representatives back when I was in High School, but this one is in Albany, New York which is 2 times BIGGER than Nebraska.
(Classmates with our professor in purple scarf)
Doing a lobbyist for something that I have a interesting in advocating and it taught me how to be strong and be able to speak up about the issue. My focus was children abuse and neglect among Deaf and Hearing children, it was great to be able to give testimony to the senator or assist staff my opinion and hear my "sign" haha!(One of our Senators)
There were also protest going on while we were there, that day was the New York State Budget deadline. The senators had to be in meetings to decide what has to be cut or not cut. It was crazy and hectic there at the Capitol!!
(See those protestors even that kid... Wow!!)
It was also lot of fun along with Amanda, my wonderful interpreter and friend! We were able to end the day going out dinner with her dad and brother who live there. It was great to meet them! The worse part about this trip was the driving- total of hours drove both ways 8 hours or less.(Amanda and I)
What a day for all of us... we were totally exhausted by the end of night, we both even were able to sleep like a baby!! :-) I wouldn't mind doing this again but for something that I have high passion for like health for Deaf community and children health.

Farm Market/Lunch

Ard end toward end of March Laura and I went to Rochester Public Farm Market, which I personally love going there! The foods are cheap and fresh. That day Laura and I decided to get something that we can cook together for late lunch n early dinner, we decided to go with this yummy shrimp pasta with asparagus mixed with garlic and basil oil along with bread roll. It was delicious!!! :-)
